Undergraduate Summer Internships
About the internship
Spend your summer in San Francisco at UCSF contributing your skills to cutting-edge research in one of our labs as an undergraduate intern. Our program offers the opportunity to sharpen your research skills and enhance your graduate applications. We invite college sophomores and juniors who are considering a career in academic research to apply to our two-month internship program. Successful applicants are matched with a faculty mentor and graduate student for their research and interact with other interns on campus through the Summer Research Training Program (SRTP). We especially encourage the following students to apply:
- Members of underrepresented minority groups
- Socio-economically disadvantaged students
- First-generation college students
- Those whose undergraduate institutions offer limited opportunities to do research
Applicants should be science majors with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 and must be United States citizens or permanent U.S. residents. A cost of living stipend and airfare will be awarded.
Application
Interested students must submit an application through the Summer Research Training Program. Application requirements are the online application form (including personal statement), two letters of recommendation, and unofficial transcripts from all colleges and universities you have attended.
