About my research
The Kortemme Lab develops approaches to design new biological functions. We aim to learn how to engineer proteins and their interactions to operate correctly in complex biological contexts, and to utilize design and engineering to probe fundamental relationships of molecular characteristics, cellular behavior, and organismal fitness. Our work spans computational method development, experimental biophysics, and functional studies in bacterial, yeast, and mammalian cell systems. Our laboratory consists of graduate students and postdocs with backgrounds in physics, engineering, computer science, chemistry, and biology.
